What did we do on Wednesday, 14th of May 2014?

1. The first thirty minutes we met a man who did many magic tricks.

2. Then, we went back to the classroom an the teacher gave us the exams' results and our individual marks with a comment giving advices and congratulating us.

3. Finally, we ate home-made coconut biscuits and wine gums that the teacher brought to the class. They were delicious!

What did we do on Friday, 9th of May 2014?

1. Some classmates did their presentation.
2. We finished the mural of The Beatles and played to the Pictionary in English. We had a lot of fun!

My students' Music Reports

ONE DIRECTION

One direction is a pop group from England. There are five members. Niall Horan and Liam Payne play the guitar and Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles sing.

The band made their first album in 2011. They had a big hit with the song "What makes you beautiful". The group became famous in "The X Factor" and went on a world tour. 

One Direction recorded their second album in 2012. The song "Up all night" went to number one in the charts in England.

MECANO

Mecano was a Spanish pop band formed in 1981 and was active until 1992.

There were three members:

-        Ana Torroja, the singer.

-        Nacho Cano, the songwriter.

-        José Cano, the composer.

Mecano used to sing pop rock with elements of ballad, dance, tango, rumba, salsa, reggae…

The band made their second single in 1981: “Perdido en mi Habitación”. 

  

Some songs are:

-Me colé en una fiesta.

-Hoy no me puedo levantar.

-Hijo de la luna.

-Maquillaje.

They were famous in all the world.

The French version of “woman against women” reached number one on the national sales charts.

Miley Ray Cyrus (Nashville, Tennessee, November 23, 1992), born Destiny Hope Cyrus, is an American actress and singer. She gained popularity in 2006 for playing the role of Miley Stewart in the Disney Channel Original Series, Hannah Montana. With the success of this franchise, became a teen idol.            

                                       

 Miley last year opted to change her hair style and changed the way of dressing and behaving at concerts halls. I love Miley Cyrus because she sings very nice and the songs are happily. In Jaunary I saw Miley in concert.  ¡ I´m her fan number 1!

Beyonce is a famous pop singer from USA. Beyonce made the first album in 2003, it's called 'Dangerous in Love'. Beyonce's first album was very famous and had five Grammy Awards.

Beyonce became famous and went on a world tour. She was born on September 4, 1981 in Houston, Texas, USA. 

She is my favourite singer.

ONE DIRECTION

One Direction is an international famous pop band. It was created in 2010 by the program "The X Factor". Simon Cowel, one of the famous jury, put Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik together in the band that today travels around the world meeting their fans.

On Friday, 23th July at 8:22 p.m Harry, Liam, Louis, Niall and Zayn were chosen to go to stage. Then, they received the notice that changed their lives.

Their first single was What makes you beautiful. Now, this song has more than 500 million visits on Youtube.

Their first album was Up all night and recorded songs like Gotta be you, One Thing or More than this.

Then, they recorded their second album, called Take me home. This album includes songs like Live while we're young, Little things or Kiss you. Live while we're young was their first hit of this album.

Later, in early 2014, they recorded their 3º album called Midnight Memories, with songs like Strong, Happily or You&I. This last is their recent single with more than 27 million visits on Youtube.

Camarón and Paco de Lucía

Camarón was born in San Fernando, Cádiz. He was the best flamenco singer. His guitar player was Paco de Lucía and the two were the best flamenco performers. 

Camarón died very young.

SHAKIRA

My favourite singer is Shakira. She was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. She is 37 years old and now, she is very happy because she and her boyfriend had their first son, Milan. I don't like that name. Her boyfriend is the FC Barcelona player, Gerard Piqué. I like him. 

She sings and composes many types of music: pop, rock, etc. Her last single 'Can't remember to forget you' is my favourite but I like 'La Tortura', ' Ojos así' and 'Waka-waka' too.

I love the way Shakira dances. She dances very fast and very good, it's incredible!

What did we do on Wednesday, 7th and Thursday, 8th of May?

1. On Wednesday, we representated a role-play and then we started a mural about The Beatles.

2. On Thursday we made our oral presentations and then we continue working on our mural; it is almost finisthed! We are working in small groups and each group has a different function. We are doing the mural altogether.

My bank holidays

On Wednesday night I went out with my friends and I went to bed because I was tired!!

On Thursday morning, I went to the beach with my mum. In the afternoon,I went to Arroyo de la Miel because my godparents and their children live there. They went to Paris and brought me a gift. At night I went out with my friends.

On Friday morning, I went to Laura's house with my friend Carmen. In the aftenoon I also went to Laura's house. At night, I stayed in my house and I went to bed early.

On Saturday,my mum and my brother went to the beach but I didn’t go because I did not feel well. In the afternon,I went out with my friend Alejandra.

Today is Sunday and it is THE MOTHER'S DAY. Today I'm going to study.

My bank-holidays were fantastic and very interesting because on Wednesday and on Thursday I went to the beach and played with my friends and family. My aunt was in a hotel,  it´s in Marbella and on Friday he invited my mum, dad, sister and grandmother to spend the day in the hotel. The hotel was comfortably. 

On Saturday I was in a competition of dance with my friends in the stadium and we won.

We are very happy and the dance teacher too. And on Sunday I did my homework.

On Friday my friends came to my house because we had to do a role-play and an oral presentation. We really enjoyed it and had fun. We did a short theater and we were many hours. On Saturday I was in my house. On Sunday I congratulated my mother for her day.

On holidays I did lots of things. On Thursday I stayed at home because I had a terrible headache, but now I'm better. On Friday morning I was helping my mum cleaning the house. In the afternoon, I went with my mum to the beach. My brother was playing a football match and he lost. My dad was at the football match with my brother. At the beach, we met my friends and my aunt. We had a great time there. 

On Saturday morning I was trying to do all my homework but I couldn't continue because I had a headache again. In the afternoon I was better and we went to the supermarket Carrefour. We bought a lot of food, hair products, body products...and then we went to Marenostrum. We played bowling and I won. We went there because my brother did his homework and it is a little strange because he doesn't like doing them. Then, we went to Burger King. I ordered a Long Chicken.

On Sunday I studied and I went with my family to the beach.

Last weekend I did different things. On Thursday I went to Almayate and I played ping-pong and football and did kayak. On Friday I went to Albert's house after I did my homework. On Saturday I played in a paddle competition with my friend Marcos and I lost, but it is an exciting experience.

On Sunday morning I ate with my grandparents because it was the mums' day! And in the afternoon I painted my art project.

What did we do on Monday, 5th of May 2014?

1. We did a grammar check

2. We did a reading: BEATLEMANIA! and corrected exercises

3. Teacher gave us time to practise our role-play

What did we do on Wednesday 30th April? 1.º C

1. We corrected homework altogether.

2. We played to the game 'How did I do it?' to activate background knowledge and review past simple verbs and adverbs of manner. The teacher gave sweets to the winners and participants.

1. Worksheet of past simple verbs (text with pictures).

2. Writing about my bank-holidays.

3. Study for the grammar check on Monday and prepare the role-play and oral presentation for next Wednesday, Thurday and Friday. We also have to prepare the MUSIC REPORT (80 words minimum), we have time until next Friday.
